That face
What’s she saying?
Curious
Angry
Disdainful
Amazed
Or did I just step on her lunch?

Hey Up There
by Linda Todd
Hey up there. Got a little morsel for me in that blue backpack?
I know you must have something you can share with me. How ‘bout one of the fruit and nut bars? You got one? No? You sure?
All you hikers carry those bars with you on your long treks in the wilderness. I’m just a little guy. Break off a little piece and I’ll be on my way.
Wait, what are you doing? Don’t go. You didn’t feed me yet. Look how cute I am with my tail all a twitch.
Did the rangers tell you not to feed us? It’s not true what they say. We know we need to fend for ourselves out here and we can’t depend on you humans to feed us. But a little treat now and then won’t hurt us.
Okay. Go. Be that way.
See if I ever twitch my tail for you again.
