Endless Days
by Diane Lovitt
Anyone noticing?
Where are the tips in the case?
How many endless days?
Tourist Town Music

Our Town
By Marilyn Slade
Our town is magnetic
It draws, seduces hundreds every day
with rockabilly country music
played by a bushy bearded guitar strummer
who delights, refreshes and sooths townies and visitors
Here furry little dogs lead shoppers to boutique doors
painted in come-hither colors
facades of original brick, coffee shops
where mocha lattes are served under red umbrellas
Our town has charm, beauty, pulses with energy
Bright sun, soft showers serve to accent
the royal blues and brilliant yellows of the businesses
in contrast with the gritty grey city that looms in the distance
like a smoke filled skeleton
Did Petula Clark sing the song “Downtown?”
“Forget all your troubles, forget all your cares and go….?”
Minstrel
by Camille DeFer Thompson
Guitar, drum, whistling
Harmonica. Wharf minstrel
Trades music for coin
Busking
by Jordan Bernal
Music is my life
With head, hands, and feet I play
Busking for your coin!
I Play
by Linda Todd
I play my harmonica
For tourists awaiting the ferry.
I play my guitar
For locals out for a stroll.
I beat my drums for teens after school.
I play for mothers pushing baby buggies
For lovers walking hand in hand
For businessmen in suits.
But mostly I play for me.
